Act Bio

Lovechild came into conception in Bangor, North Wales due to a common interest in all things ‘Rock and Roll’ that bound together singer Olly Lovett, guitarist Edd Thomas and bassist Mike Williams. Once united they began writing their own brand of music that avoided clichés, drawing influence from traditional blues artists and progressive musical thinkers from the sixties through to the present day .

Since relocating to Manchester and welcoming drummer Ollie Sergeant to the fold the band have enhanced their sound into what has been coined ‘Tormented Blues’. This accessible yet layered sound retains the core musical appreciation and individual values of the group centred on the happiness vacuum of modern materialism. Its personal, it’s political and it’s social. It’s the blues.

Live shows such as opening the ‘In the City’ festival in Manchester and supporting ‘The Dirt Tracks’ on their UK tour have highlighted the bands considerable stage presence, impressing fans of varying musical leanings due to their visible enthusiasm and unity when delivering their message on stage.

Lovechild have produced an EP entitled ‘Death?’ which contains four of their finest tracks and serves as an indication of the bands current guise and their possible future direction by allowing the listener into the microcosm of Lovechild’s view of the world.
